Aardvark Giving Back is our commitment to uplifting our community by transforming lives through the power of a thoughtfully crafted bathroom renovation. We believe everyone deserves a safe, comfortable, and dignified space within their home. By donating a complete bathroom makeover to someone in genuine need, we aim to offer not just a renewed room, but renewed confidence, comfort, and care.

This initiative is built on collaboration. We proudly partner with local tradespeople, suppliers, and businesses who share our passion for giving back. Together, we combine skills, resources, and heart to make a meaningful difference — one home, one family, one act of community support at a time.

How to Apply

To apply for our Giving Back project, you can submit this form.

PLEASE NOTE: Nominations have now closed and the project is underway. Please follow us on social media to keep up to date with the renovation and find out when the initiative will reopen.

Applications can be submitted by yourself, or by a family member, friend, neighbour, or community organisation.

Each application should include:

·       Applicant’s name and contact details

·       Address and confirmation of location

·       A brief explanation of their situation

·       Why this renovation would make a difference

·       Any relevant accessibility or safety needs

Eligibility Guidelines

To ensure the Aardvark Giving Back initiative reaches someone who truly needs support, all applicants or nominees must meet the following criteria:

Location Requirements

The nominee must live in Hemel Hempstead or the surrounding areas 

Including but not limited to: Hemel Hempstead, Kings Langley, Abbots Langley, Berkhamsted, or nearby villages.

Genuine Need

Applicants should be experiencing circumstances that make a bathroom renovation difficult or impossible to achieve without support. This may include:

• Financial hardship, such as low income, unexpected financial strain

• Health or mobility challenges , such as disability, chronic illness, or recovery from injury

• Caring responsibilities, for example full‑time carers who have limited time or resources

• Vulnerable or at‑risk individuals, such as people facing difficult life events

• Community contributors in need, for example someone who gives a lot to the community but is currently struggling themselves

Applicants do not need to share deeply personal details, however we would need enough information to help us understand their situation and why this renovation would make a meaningful difference.

Property Suitability

Please note, that in order to carry out the project safely and effectively, we will need to complete a site visit to ensure suitable. 

The bathroom must be structurally suitable for renovation.

The applicant or nominee must have permission for the work to be carried out, for example if they are tenants, we will need landlord approval.

The property must be accessible for tradespeople and materials.

Willingness to Participate

Applicants must be comfortable with Aardvark Bathrooms documenting the renovation process for social media and community updates.

We will always handle stories with dignity and sensitivity.

Applicants must be available for a pre‑project home visit to assess feasibility.

Transparency and Privacy Statement

Aardvark Giving Back is a community initiative funded entirely by Aardvark Bathrooms.

There are no costs, hidden fees, or obligations for the nominee or the person submitting the nomination. All nominations will be reviewed by a small panel of independent individuals to ensure a fair and considerate selection process. The chosen recipient will be selected based on need, personal circumstances, and the potential impact the renovation could have on their daily life.

All personal information shared in nominations will be treated with respect and used solely for the purpose of this initiative.

As part of celebrating and sharing the impact of this initiative, elements of the renovation journey may be documented on Aardvark Bathrooms’ social media channels. This will always be done sensitively, with full consent from the chosen recipient, and with their comfort and privacy as the priority.
